Creating Distinctive Looks With One Jacket

Has there been a piece of clothing that you would wear excessively throughout the week. It might be your favorite scarf, knit sweater or even a pair of jeans, yet I  question, who says that you’re not allowed to wear a piece of clothing more than once.

Well, I personally have a favorite blazer that I challenge myself to wear in a different way within the week. Yes, It may sound insane to others, or even a bit interesting to a few, but it’s a trial that’s motivating and a risk I am willing to take. Surprisingly, this jacket was $60, and I thought it was a great deal. You might be wondering whether this may be difficult to do, and yes, it will be, but as long as you’re open minded and innovative things will start to fall in place.
So, let’s start off with Alexzander McQueen’s insightful saying "I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people would perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it."
I welcome you to fasten your seat belt and come along with me as I demonstrate four looks of what I believe to be interesting blends of a unique look.

blazer: in-style, Shoes: DSW, Pants: Gap, Jewelry: bedazzled

Look number one is very simple, in which I placed two different shoes to wear during the day and evening. Jewelry would be an essential only because your chest would look bear and empty

shirt: in-style, shoes: DSW, Skirt: in-style, bracelet: kholes

For a fancier look, I added a red pencil skirt and black pumps. In order to add a little creativity, a pencil skirt would create a clean, classic look. don't be reluctant to insert some flare into the outfit because that is when your style and personality will standout amongst others.

shirt in-style, boots: designer label, skirt: in-style, Jewelry: bedazzled

This look would be categorized as a fall look because of the suede boots. Suede can usually be worn during the winter, only because of its style and texture.

shirt: in-style, pants: in-style, shoes: DSW and necklace: overstock

This is a more playful outfit. The pants are bright and lively as well as the flats. The necklace is used as an attention for detail look, once again, I found something that corresponds to my liking and reflects my personality. I enjoy wearing bright colors because it utters excitement, and boldness. I encourage everyone to try a shirt or blazer throughout the week and create something stimulating, curious and attractive.

  1. I am a bit fearsome of using bright colors with anything because of my size, if I wear something, it is usually black because as we know its suppose to hide all your faults of the body, I admire people that can wear colorful clothing or shoes and make a splash on the world so to speak. But let me ask you this, is it okay for people of my size to wear anything other than black? I feel like people may laugh if I step outside in something other than black. I know this comes from insecurity but what color are good for people of my size?

    1. Hi Natasha, i am glad you asked that question. You can basically wear any color you feel comfortable in, but i would start small with perhaps the color green or red. However, it does not have to be as bold as I presented it, but it can be a simple red shirt,a creative orange belt, or even a yellow purse.i don't believe people will laugh at you unless your wearing a huge purple jumpsuit, but like I said start with minor pieces of clothing than you can build from there. This is why i titled my blog minimally chic, i wanted to portray a style that you can form or dress in a simplistic way without feeling too overwhelmed.
